Every year, we, teachers of Eagle County, have the pleasure to enter the classrooms of this wonderful area. We are just moments away, but our district makes sure we are prepared. Last week, we all experienced the Motivation and Engagement Professional Development. I enjoyed my Math Content training which also included planning time. I was fortunate to be able to create math progressions of learning with esteemed colleagues and fellow ECEA members, Libby Navarro (AES), Kate Turnipseed (BCES), and Missy Carpenter (GES). We also participated in the Math Solutions Presentations with Chris. She is amazing and provided us with tons of strategies and ideas to start the year off right. It was great seeing Dr. Jason Glass speak to us. His energy electrified us. His message stuck. Clarity, Collaboration, and Compassion will make 2013/14 a "kick ass" year.
Also, thank you, Efec, for the excellent FAC at Cafe Milano! This year, please take the time to get involved in the many opportunities that ECEA will be offering.
Become a Building Rep, attend a meeting, attend a professional development training from CEA's Teaching and Learning Department, get involved with helping to pass Initiative 22, and the list goes on. Also, invite someone who is not currently member to join. Contact me if you need membership forms.
Have a great school year and remember to "take the lead so every student thrives"!
